From Corporate Climb to Health Coach: It’s never too late to become who you’re meant to be:
I want to start out by thanking you for taking the time to read my content. To be honest, writing a blog is the last thing I thought I would ever be doing, but here I am. I have never been interested in becoming an influencer and am not necessarily looking to go viral for attention purposes, nor do I want to edit my thoughts, experiences, or point of view on health and wellness, discipline, and spirituality so the message comes out generic, inauthentic, and over edited. So please forgive me if my writing style seems a little raw or too direct at times, thus the name: Imperfect Odyssey!
I will begin by sharing some of my history, and why Imperfect Odyssey was created.
I began my career in outside sales after my formal education was completed. I was eager to gain experience and create a future, and just wanted to start moving forward with building “real world work experience.” Like most of us, I had to start at the bottom of the food chain. And after a few years in entry level roles, I managed to move up to the next position, only to face a setback when the company went out of business. From there my journey continued with a more stable role that allowed me to develop my skills, eventually earning a position in management.
Once promoted, I thought I had finally “arrived.” I was learning new skills and building momentum, and getting closer to where I thought I wanted to be. Until I encountered another challenge, the company was sold to a large corporate entity that was not focused on success or growth, but on micromanagement and directionless tasks. At this point, I was starting to question my direction, I started to feel like I was running on autopilot, and felt stuck in my comfort zone - which by the way was becoming painful! That’s when it hit me, I had been stalling for years, waiting for magic to happen I suppose. At this point, the pain hadn’t been great enough to get me off of my ass to do something about it, so I continued to stagnate for a couple of years. And at last, when the comfort zone became painful enough I decided to make a major change.
So with a degree in psychology, and a Master’s in Counseling, I decided to make the pivot and became a health coach. As I was stuck in my comfort zone, trying to fit into multiple choice career options I finally realized that I had been neglecting my passions and what motivated me: health, fitness, building discipline, spirituality. These are the topics I love, and have always been interested in, so with that knowledge, I decided to dedicate my life to helping others transform. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. My mission is to empower you to step into your strongest, healthiest, most fulfilled self.
Going Forward: My intent is to write a blog each week with a focus on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. My goal is to motivate and inspire you into taking another Action / Step towards achieving your dreams! The purpose is to help you take meaningful steps toward living a life of vibrant health and deep inner peace. True wellness is more than just eating well or exercising, it’s about aligning every part of your being: your thoughts, habits, energy, and heart.
Don’t settle “Customize the life you dream of”
